Congratulations to our MRA Winners at the Recent ORA AGM
At the recent 2013-2014 Ontario Ringette Association Annual General Meeting, our Past President
Sal Magnone, was awarded the " ORA's Community Builder Award".
Congratulations Sal!Sal has spent 10+ years with Mississauga Ringette where he has taken on many roles. Past President of MRA was his most recent, but previously he was a Vice President, Head Coach of teams his daughter has played on, and teams his daughter has not played on. He has lead MRA while we hosted our first U12 Petite Provincial Event, Southern Regionals, and most recently the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships. Many players, parents, association colleagues and friends of Sal, appreciate his calm demeanor and are thankful for his partnership as he dedicated countless personal hours to ensure the success of MRA. As an Association, we are very pleased to see Sal recognized for his contribution, not only at our Association Level, but also at the Provincial Level.
Another former player of Mississauga Ringette Association was also recognized that weekend, and that is
Sarah Esmail who currently plays for Richmond Hill Ringette Association. Sarah was awarded the
"Jackie Lajeunesse Scholarship Award". The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and the pursuit of higher education among members of the Ontario Ringette Association. To provide annually 2 (two) scholarships of $1000.00 each (one thousand dollars) towards post-secondary education for Ringette players, coaches and/or officials who have demonstrated a strong academic performance and a commitment to the sport of Ringette. Recipients will also receive a Scholarship Award certificate recognizing their achievements.
Join us in congratulating Sarah who has a passion for the game, playing last season U19AA, Southern AAA, and is a member of the Richmond Hill NRL Team this season!
