International Ringette Event - Help Wanted
Submitted By Calin Macrinici on Monday, November 4, 2013
Hi MRA Families,

We have a unique opportunity to assist the Hamilton Ringette Association with an international ringette event.  Please read on to find out more.

Lyne Landriault is part of the Hamilton Heat Ringette Association, she organizes trips to give players an international experience through the game.  She has put together a tournament over Christmas Holidays.  Here is a bit of her back ground:

Well I have been involved in ringette for 34 years! I am still playing and been with Hamilton ringette for 21 years! I have been organizing "trips" for all ages! Now that I have a daughter that has been playing in Hamilton now 13 yrs old I organize trips to give players such as myself and others a trip of a lifetime. I have organized a Finland and Sweden tour in 2010 and also 2012 I am planning another trip to Prague and Finland to participate in the tour 2014! I know I didn't have the opportunity to do such trips...thought I would make it possible to others and my daughter to experience!  So the reasoning behind us doing this friendship tourney is to raise funds for our players to cut costs for 2014! Most girls coming here we will meet once again next year in the tournament!

For this 2013 tournament taking place in Hamilton December 28th through December 30th there is a need for housing of U14 and U16 players. The parents will be staying in hotels for there stay. Players arrive morning of Saturday December 28th at the Hamilton arena for families to meet the players etc.....pretty much teams will spend the day at the arena. I know they are planning on getting the girls fed for lunch....the organizer is planning to make sure it is done at the arena so they will be taken care of that. So at the end of the day Saturday December families will take the girls home with them..... Return to arena for the Sunday December 29th games/championships. I know they have planned to go to a hockey they will leave from the arena to head out to Toronto for the hockey game....then host families can meet them once again to pick up the players at arena when they return that night.  Monday December 30th, we will likely make arrangements to have those players that are staying in the Mississauga area to be picked up at a local arena rather then have you drive back to Hamilton...which only makes sense....this is something I will request for the hosting Mississauga  families. From there they will be heading to Niagara Falls then to North Bay for the worlds...... If you are planning to around over the Christmas Holidays, please consider this wonderful opportunity.
